Appointments: Roger Hannah; Myerson; EMS & more

CHARTERED surveyors Roger Hannah and Co has recruited Nicola Russell-Smith as its property financial controller.

Russell-Smith has almost 10 years’ experience in property finance, with seven years at DTZ and more recently Savills.

She will head up the property accounting function at the Manchester-based firm of surveyors and property managers, promising to deliver “strong internal controls and client-centric reporting and financial management”.

Director at the Manchester-based firm, Andy Clifford, said: “Nicola is an ideal fit, bringing drive, enthusiasm and discipline to the financial function. She has already demonstrated her leadership, coaching and problem solving skills.

“Her experience with the nes IT systems we have implemented will be of significant benefit as we further develop our processes to utilise this system to the full for both our internal governance and external client needs.”

SOUTH Manchester commercial law firm Myerson has made a hat-trick of hires with the recruitment of  Nicola Jackson, Jonathan Pickles and Emma Marshall.

Jackson and Pickles join the firm’s commercial property team. Jackson previously worked at Gunnercooke and also lectured on property law at the University of Law.  Pickles previously worked at Nexus Solicitors and Trowers & Hamlins.

Meanwhile Emma Marshall has joineds Myerson’s commercial litigation team from Hill Dickinson, having trained at Gateley.

ELLESMERE Port-based Event Marketing Solutions (EMS) has appointed Cassie Kendrew as head of client operations to drive roadshow events.

She re-joins EMS from Watermeadow Medical where she was responsible for the conception and delivery of international events for leading pharmaceutical companies. She previously held an account management position at EMS where she managed some of the company’s biggest and more logistically challenging campaigns including the Ford multi-vehicle campaign.

Chief executive Keith Austin said: “Cassie returns to EMS at an exciting time, as we prepare to launch second trucks for two long term clients and unveil exciting new tours for several new brands.”

CHRIS Argent has joined CBRE’s Manchester office as planning director from GVA.  He advises on foodstore, non-food retail and leisure developments and mixed-use commercial schemes for a variety of developer clients and will assume a national remit within the CBRE team.

INSURER Jelf Manson, has expanded its Manchester corporate team with the appointment of experienced professional Helen Collier as account executive.

With more than 30 years’ experience in the insurance sector,  Collier’s new role gives her responsible for providing technical insurance advice to new and existing clients. She will also assist in helping to expand the firm’s corporate insurance services.

She has previously worked for insurance brokers, Towergate, Giles and Aon.

DELOITTE has welcomed eight new graduates to its audit, audit advisory, corporate tax and indirect tax departments at its Liverpool office.

Lauren Cox, Jonathan Gillbanks, Tom Dooley and Jonathan Urmston have become part of the audit team, while Tom Wilbourn and Benjamin Kirkham have been added to the audit advisory section.

Peter Roberts, a recent graduate from Newcastle University, will be part of the indirect tax team and Alex Whalley, who completed the Deloitte’s summer vacation scheme in 2013, has returned as part of the corporate tax section.

STUART Sage has been appointed to lead the Homes and Communities Agency in Lancashire and Cumbria..

Mr Sage was already senior manager for the HCA in the same area and delivered the Preston, South Ribble and Lancashire City Deal.

He takes over the role vacated by Marie Hodgson, who has become the HCA’s head of area for Greater Manchester.

Executive director of the HCA in the North West, Deborah McLaughlin, said: “Stuart has worked for the HCA for the last six years, and his dedication and hard work have made an enormous contribution to our work in Lancashire and Cumbria.”
