Trio up for PLC gong

THREE North West technology firms have been shortlisted for the UK PLC Awards.

Manchester-based NCC Group, an online security provider, Moneysupermarket.com in Chester and Lancashire engineering group Victrex are battling it out to be crowned Best Technology Company of the Year.

The awards celebrate the best in the quoted companies sector outside the FTSE100 and aim to underline its importance to the UK economy. They are in their 28th year and are produced jointly with PwC and Ford Sinclair.

Fiona Kelsey, PLC leader at PwC in Manchester, said: “The North West has seen a significant increase in the number of IPOs over the last 18 months, replenishing the ranks of PLCs in the region. NCC Group, Moneysupermarket and Victrex are long established North West companies, who are leading the way in terms of technology and innovation, so it is great that they are being recognised and representing the region’s PLCs on a national stage.”

1,700 guests, including quoted companies, investment banks, fund managers, investment analysts, and corporate advisers, will be welcomed to the awards, which take place on 19 March 2015.
