Chamber Link wins UKTI tender

CHAMBER LINK has retained its contract to deliver export advice and support services to North West companies looking to or already exporting.

The organisation has been through a tendering process over the last three months and has been handed a five year contract by UK Trade and Investment.

Chamber Link is part of the Manchester Growth Company, a not for profit group, delivering the services in partnership with seven regional chambers of commerce.

The government says the five year deals will give businesses consistency and also underline its commitment to increase the number of companies that export. The bidders will also be eligible to bid for up to £100m in additional export support through the European Structural & Investment Funds.

Trade minister Lord Livingston said: “I am delighted that we can commit to long term contracts and provide the support that businesses need to break into new markets, creating jobs and growth for their region.

“UKTI will be working with locally based organisations, including social enterprises and Chambers of Commerce, to ensure that public money is targeted at where it is most needed and spent responsibly.”

UK Trade & Investment helped a total of 47,960 businesses in 2013 to 2014 to export for the first time or find new markets.
