Video charts progress of Chester project
REGENERATION specialist Muse Developments has released a time-lapse video showing the progress of work on a six-storey office development at the heart of Chester’s new £100m Central Business Quarter.
The video featuring One City Place marks the halfway point in construction of the 70,000 sq ft office space near to Chester Railway Station, due for completion in November.
It showcases some of the milestones on site including the first ground being broken in June 2014 through to the recent completion of the central core from which the steel framework will be hung.
Work has also started on remodelling part of the Grade II-listed Chester Railway Station building and former rail car park to create a new landscaped attractive public realm area and gateway from the station into the Central Business Quarter.
One City Place is being developed speculatively and represents the first of seven buildings which could accommodate a total of about 3,500 jobs by 2028.
The BREEAM ‘excellent’ rated building will accommodate around 700 employees and will feature a large ground floor foyer and reception area with five upper floors offering flexible office space and floor-to-ceiling glazing to allow for natural light.

“One City Place is an important part of the first phase of the Central Business Quarter and I am pleased to say we have already had some commercial interest from a number of financial and professional services companies.”
