Appointments: Purple Wifi; Savills; Edwards & more

MANCHESTER-based  Purple WiFi, the expanding cloud-based Social WiFi software company, has appointed Eric law as vice president of worldwide sales.

Law joins Purple WiFi from Cisco Systems, where he spent 18 years and was latterly director of sales strategy and business development for the enterprise & public sector.

At Purple, he will be tasked with growing the ambitious company’s sales function and also driving revenue growth through and with Purple WiFi’s customers, distributors, service providers and channel partners.

Gavin Wheeldon, chief executive said: “I’m delighted to welcome Eric on board. I have no doubt whatsoever that he is going to make an incredibly valuable part of our team and will be instrumental in taking us quickly to where we need to be, globally. Eric will use his in-depth knowledge of channel sales and his proven experience of building a global team to attract partners and maximise success with scale.”

PROPERTY consultants, Edwards & Co has recruited Martin Hamer as an investment director to bolster its transactional team and provide clients with a dedicated investment service.

Previously a divisional director at Capita, Hamer has 15 years’ investment experience and knowledge of the North West market. Before Capita he was head of Collier’s investment team in Manchester.

ANNA Wilson has been promoted to head of costs at Asons Solicitors, the Bolton firm.

Wilson, who joined Asons as a costs draftsman in August 2013 after completing a law degree and continuing to study on the legal practice course, said: “I feel really pleased to be selected for this role as the head of costs, in light of having only just over a year and a half’s experience, and I am very grateful for this opportunity to continue to progress my career at such a fast pace.”

SAVILLS has announced six promotions across a number of departments in its Manchester office.

Moving up to director in the hotels, leisure and trading team is Tom Cunningham, while Paul Tracey (building and project consultancy), Hayden Manifold (development) and Rob Hall (property management),  have become associate directors. Finally, Craig McCall and Tom Morris from the property management division, have been made up to associate.
