Appointments: UKFast; Pinsent Masons & more

ONLINE security professional Andy Hague is to join Manchester cloud and colocation firm UKFast, to lead its security division, Secarma.
A former operations director at Manchester-based NCC Group, where be worked from 2006 and 2010, he will return to the region to drive growth in Secarma.
He said: “Heading up the Secarma team is the start of an exciting new journey for me. Cybersecurity is at an all-time high on the business agenda in board rooms across the globe and it’s our responsibility to help protect our clients. There is some extraordinary technical capabilities currently within UKFast servicing the client base already and I am keen to grow this talent pool significantly.”
Lawrence Jones, CEO of UKFast said: “We have grown the online security arm internally but I don’t have the expertise or spare capacity to tackle such a mammoth opportunity, so I am tremendously proud to get Andy on board.”

MANCHESTER private equity lawyer Andy Phillips has been promoted to partner at international law firm Pinsent Masons.
Phillips, who is one of 29 partner promotions across the firm, has recently been involved in a number of notable transactions, such as the investment by LDC in Synexus and the sale of Sykes Cottages to Living Bridge Private Equity.
Helen Ridge, head of the firm’s Manchester office said: “The promotions for this year show how strong the talent is that we hold in the firm. CHESHIRE East Council has appointed experienced commercial property professional Nick Hynes to lead a key advisory panel to review and drive forward the redevelopment of Macclesfield town centre.
Hynes, a chartered surveyor, spent 26 years as managing director of Macclesfield-based property company Magnus before leaving to set up his own consultancy business earlier this year.
In his new role as delivery executive and chair of the Macclesfield Design Board, he will help the council review its options for taking the important Silk Street scheme forward.
He will advise the council and its partners on innovative investment models and partnership arrangements to secure investment, funding and delivery for the overall vision for the town.
