UK Point of Sale invests as revenue grows

UK Point of Sale, the family-owned manufacturer, is investing in new staff and equipment.
The Stockport-based company which makes display products for retailers like Tesco and Sainsbury’s and pub operators such as Wetherspoons, has recently bought a new euro-laser cutting system along with several top-of-the-range heat-bending machines, bringing investment in new equipment to £300,000.
The new kit will allow the company, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, to continue to create innovative, high quality and bespoke products.
UK POS has also recently expanded its sales team with the appointment of four account managers. It is targeting further sales hires later this year after seeing its web sales nearly double in the last five years, meaning nearly a quarter of total turnover now comes through online sales.
The company, which moved to its new 47,000 sq ft headquarters in Bredbury last year, said 2014 sales rose 23% in 2014.
Managing director Jason Leslie, said: “We are thrilled with the increase in our sales figures and we know it is vital that we now invest in expert staff and specialist equipment to meet the growing demand from our customers.
“This is a landmark year for UK POS being the 25th anniversary and its great that we’ve seen such a positive start to 2015. We have a very varied customer base, but are keen to work with local businesses, and our exhibition at the Northern Restaurant & Bar trade show later this month will continue to strengthen our presence within the hospitality sector.
“The eurolaser cutting system is one of the best in the world and with the recent appointment of new sales account managers and e-commerce team members later this year, we are confident we can continue to deliver great products at great prices.”
