The only way is Essex for Better Bathrooms

BETTER Bathrooms, the North West retailer backed by the Business Growth Fund, is continuing its national expansion push with the opening of its first store in the south east.

The Leigh company, a recent winner of the Fast Growth category at the North West Business Masters Awards, has taken a 18,217 sq ft warehouse in Romford, Essex, which will open its doors on Friday.

It is its ninth showroom and joins successful stores in Slough, Leicester, York, Manchester, Warrington, Wigan, and its trade counter in Leigh and Didcot.

CEO and founder Colin Stevens said, “We are delighted to add our first Greater London store to our property portfolio and have recruited a great team who are friendly, knowledgeable and from the local area. We are very excited about the store and the opportunity to be part of the Romford community. The new showroom looks great and it is a fantastic addition to the Better Bathrooms’ brand.”

In 2007, Better Bathrooms’ annual turnover stood at just over £1m and in the last financial year the turnover was £37m. It aims to double growth over the next three to five years and the Romford store will be a big part of this.

Lancashire-based commercial property consultants Robert Pinkus & Co is  Better Bathrooms’ sole property agent for its store acquisition drive.

Joe Assalone, partner said: “The success of the brand and the quality of the products offered by this retailer is the main facilitator behind the company’s continued fast-tracked growth and we continue to search for properties across the UK that match what the Romford showroom has to offer.”
