Appointments: RICS; Bilfinger GVA: Birchall Blackburn

THE North & Midlands arm of the RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) has a new North West director.
 
Victoria Hampson – previously RICS Member Services Manager (North & Midlands) – has been promoted to the role after taking the reins from Jennifer Welch, who has been promoted to director of business delivery following a successful secondment as director of RICS in West Africa.
 
During the six months Welch was seconded in West Africa, Hampson provided support by stepping up to the role of acting regional Director of RICS (North & Midlands).

BILFINGER GVA Manchester has strengthened its planning, development and regeneration (PDR) team with the reappointment of senior surveyor Sarah May.
 
May has re-joined the team having previously worked for the firm for two years before departing to Barratt Partnerships in 2012.
 
As senior surveyor at Bilfinger GVA, she will be responsible for providing commercial inputs around fund applications, development visibility and procurement advice.
 
“I am thrilled to be re-joining Bilfinger GVA’s PDR team,” May said. “The firm has an outstanding reputation that boasts a first class client base. I am excited to be working with some of the region’s most established projects.”

THE conveyancing team at Birchall Blackburn Law in Chorley, Lancashire,  has seen significant expansion since January with the recruitment of seven new members taking the team to 17.

Solicitor Naomi Everett has joined from CMA Bolton along with executives Amber Houghton, Sarah Corlett and Michael Arstall.

Fee earners Stacey Finney and Lyn Cornish as well as Jourdan Wright who were previously part of the non-standard conveyancing team at Birchall Blackburn Law have also transferred across.

PR and marketing agency Freshfield has promotedfive staff and is planning further recruitment to support its gowth.

Within the PR team, Andrew Taylor, Ben Hewes and Emma Rawlinson have  been promoted to the role of senior PR consultant, while Laura Cullen steps up to become senior PR executive.

And in the Preston firm’s creative services team, Gareth Edwards has been promoted to the role of senior branding and design consultant.
