NORTHEDGE Capital (NorthEdge), the private equity firm focused on investing in companies in the North, has announced Emma Rawlinson’s promotion to chief financial officer.
 
Rawlinson, an experienced chartered accountant and debt advisory practitioner, has been an integral member of the NorthEdge team, operating as finance director since the company’s inception in 2009.

She originally joined from Deloitte where she was a manager in the Debt Advisory department, responsible for developing the firm’s National Debt Advisory business.
 
In her role Rawlinson will continue to work alongside NorthEdge’s senior management team with responsibility for the operational side of the business, handling HR, legal issues and infrastructure.
 
She said: “As a member of the team from the outset, it has been fantastic watching the business transform into one of the leading private equity houses in the North of England.

“It is an absolute pleasure working alongside the partners at NorthEdge, helping to shape the direction and focus of our investment strategy.”

OLDHAM-based James Briggs, one of the largest manufacturers of aerosol and consumer chemicals in Europe, has appointed Tim Pugh as chief executive.
 
Pugh joins the business with a wealth of international experience in the automotive and the chemical coatings sectors, having spent time in an array of senior positions at Scania Group, RAC and automotive refinish products business U-POL.
 
Briggs chairman Jim Sumner said: “Tim’s undoubted leadership qualities, sectorial background and strong all-round commercial experience will prove to be of huge benefit to the business as it looks to deliver upon its ambitious expansion plans over the coming years.”

Pugh added: “With its tremendous combination of technical and manufacturing expertise, and clear focus on long-term customer relationships, I’m delighted to be joining James Briggs. PROPERTY and cost consultancy Rider Levett Bucknall has a new managing partner to operate its Manchester office.
 
Russell Bolton will take on the role, helping to develop the business in the North West in line with its 2020 growth strategy.
 
He joins from EC Harris, where he was office principal for the Manchester office. Bolton has a track record of growing consultancy practices in the region and a wealth of experience gained from working with clients including Peel, Bruntwood, Muse Developments and ITV.

SOUTPORT law firm Fletchers Solicitors has set up a specialist high value medical injury unit in its growing clinical negligence practice.

It will concentrate on more serious and catastrophic cases. The firm has also brought in Mark Tempest, a solicitor with 30 years’ of experience.

He joins from Fletchers Solicitors where he handled a number of high value clinical negligence cases including, but not limited to, orthopaedic , gynaecological, urological, opthalmic, dental and misdiagnosis cases.
