Hitachi’s outsourcing arm moves to new base

HITACHI Consulting has taken occupancy of new office space in the centre of Manchester.

Its 65 staff have switched from the fifth floor of Chancery Place to 5,904sq ft floor 19  of Manchester One – with panoramic views of the city and surrounding areas – on Portland Street.

The operation is the outsourcing services division of Hitachi Consulting which also has technology solutions and management consulting departments based in London.

The company – one of 900 subsidiaries of the giant Japanese-headquartered group – has embarked on an aggressive expansion in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) through acquisition and recently bought IM Group.

Vice-president  Nigel Ogden said: “‘Hitachi Consulting has had a strong presence in Manchester for a number of years now.

“The move to a brand new and larger office underlines the company’s commitment to continue to deliver IT services to our worldwide clients from a Manchester base for many years to come.”

The company acquired information management and business intelligence services provider IM Group – which has a Manchester base as well as offices in London and India – almost a year ago.
