Jeweller aims to dazzle in Florida and London

A SMALL family business is taking a big step into the US.

Hale-based jeweller Steven Stone is moving to Florida to launch a new venture there, while his son Zack runs the existing showroom on Ashley Road and its online business.

The Stones are also opening in London ‘s West End with a 300 sq ft shop in St Christopher’s Place near Oxford Street, which like the Palm Beach store in Florida is opening in the next three to four months.

Mr Stone said: “These are exciting times for us. Our business is unique in that we are one of the few jewellers who actually manufacture.  This means that we can create beautiful, individual pieces at very competitive prices.  

“Last year we invested £150,000 in redeveloping the Hale showroom and we have also invested significantly in online which has paved the way for us to open in Florida and in London. A significant number of our customers in Hale are coming from the south after finding our website and we know we are missing out on business by not having a presence there.”

Mr Stone, who has been in the jewellery business for 47 years, credited the company’s recent growth spurt to his son Zack, 28, who will oversee the London launch.

“We expect London to overtake Hale before very long and as people hear more about our service and of course excellent prices. Zack is very experienced and has led us into the 21st Century.”
