Appointments: Barratt Homes; Freeths; Aldermore;

MICHAELA Lancaster has been appointed sales director at Barratt Homes’ North West division in Manchester.

She has previously been sales and marketing director at Miller Homes, Gladedale Homes, Countryside Homes and Bett Homes. She has also held roles at Gleeson Homes and Colroy Plc.

Having worked in property all her career, Lancaster’s successes have included setting up a first time buyer initiative with English Partnerships, growing a house building business from £16m to £70m turnover and managing a £140m portfolio.

She said said: “Barratt Manchester has achieved the maximum five stars in the industry’s annual customer satisfaction rating run by the Home Builders Federation for an unprecedented six years running.”

NATIONAL law firm Freeths has announced the appointment of Stephen Lewis, further expanding its national real estate team.
 
He will join the Manchester office as a partner after 14 years at Brabners in Liverpool.
 
Lewis has extensive experience in real estate and advises on a wide range of commercial property matters including retail, leisure and mixed used developments and has acted for a variety of investment clients managing their portfolios; over the last nine months he has handled a batch of transactions with a cumulative value of £40m.

He will team up with Ian Tempest head of real estate in Manchester and joins a growing real estate team.

Recent appointments takes the total number of real estate lawyers nationally to above 40.
 
The expansion takes place shortly after Freeths have been recognised for demonstrating high levels of employee engagement.

The firm has been awarded star status by Best Companies for 2015 and is a Sunday Times 100 Best Company to Work For 2015.

The Legal 500’s UK rankings also put Freeths as a regional leader in no less than 28 categories and 61 partners are recognized by Chambers UK as leaders in their field.

TOM O’Dell has joined Aldermore as regional sales manager for South Cheshire and Staffordshire.
 
He joins the Bank after working as a relationship manager with RBS for the past eight years.

O’Dell will be focused on increasing the number of businesses Aldermore supports in the area and ensuring Aldermore is first to offer working capital funding to SMEs across Cheshire and Staffordshire.
