Appointments: Brabners, Mottram Hall, Deloitte & more

COMMERCIAL law firm Brabners has hired two new partners adding expertise to its corporate, real estate and specialist energy teams as part of an ‘aggressive talent acquisition strategy’ to support its growth plans.
The two new hires are Mark Whiteside, who joins the Manchester firm’s corporate team from KPMG, and Claire Petricca-Riding, who has been appointed as head of planning and environmental law.
The firm has also reappointed corporate lawyer Mark Brandwood as managing partner for a third term. Brandwood has overseen sustained growth over his six-year tenure as managing partner, which most recently saw revenues rise by 4.5% cent to £30.2m in 2014.

CONFERENCE and event operator QHotels has appointed Michael Lavizani as the new general manager of Mottram Hall in Cheshire.
The appointment follows his recent success as general manager at Mottram’s sister hotels, the Telford Hotel and Golf Resort and Bridgewood Manor in Kent.
Lavizani is now responsible for the running of the hotel’s leisure operations, with 120 bedrooms and 11 conferencing, event and meeting spaces catering for up to 180 delegates, following a £6m refurbishment of the building’s spectacular features and facilities.
Mottram Hall one of QHotels’ 27 unique and luxury four and five-star hotels.

DELOITTE’S Manchester office has bolstered its team with the appointment of four new recruits to its planning, surveying and development advisory teams.
It welcomes both Matthew Stringer and Greg Salisbury to the construction advisory team, Anna Dooley to development advisory and Katie Wray to the planning team.
Stringer joins Deloitte as a senior surveyor from Watts Group, bringing an extensive knowledge in building surveying and project management having worked with clients nationally including MEPC, Thomson and The Co-operative Group.
Also joining the advisory team is Salisbury as an assistant surveyor. He has already worked for Edinburgh City Council, and is now training to become a fully chartered member of the RICS whilst he progresses his role at Deloitte.

CHARTERED Surveyors Roger Hannah & Co has expanded its valuation and compulsory purchase teams with the recruitment of Paul Lowe and Irfan Arif.
Lowe joins from Fisher Wrathall Chartered Surveyors where he was head of agency in their Lancaster Office and specialised in providing valuation advice on both residential and commercial property.
Irfan joins from Burnley Borough Council’s Property Services Department where he was involved in providing strategic valuations and also advised in respect of compulsory purchase orders.

COMMERCIAL property consultancy Lamber Smith Hampton has recruited Nick Mullins and Paul Jolley as directors from CBRE.
Hampton has joined LSH’s Manchester office as head of funding and development while Jolley is the new head of property.
Their appointments follow the recent acquisitions of ES Group and Manchester-based retail specialist Tushingham Moore.

MANCHESTER and Stockport accounty firm HURST has strengthened its business services team with the appointment of John Glover as a senior manager.
Glover, 36, has joined HURST from BDO in Manchester. He has experience of advising listed, private equity-backed and owner-managed businesses in sectors including manufacturing, retail, recruitment and financial services.
Glover has also undertaken several client secondments, giving him a commercial angle to his experience.
HURST plans to further expand its business services team – which provides audit, accounting and compliance services to clients – with at least five more appointments before the end of the year.
