Byotrol reports substantial improvement

CHESHIRE-based anit-micrbial hygiene company Byotrol has announced a significant improvement in its financial performance, and has managed to almost halve its losses.
In its preliminary results for the year ended Mary 31, headline revenue was up to £3.25m (2014: £3.12m).
The AIM-listed Daresbury company, which sells in to food, industrial and healthcare and consumer sectors, reduced its operating costs by 21% to £1.56m (2014: £1.97m).
EBITDA loss – before exceptional items and share option charges) – was reduced to £4,18,000 (2014: £744,000).
Excluding a one-off suspension payment from a US licensee in 2014, the EBITDA reduction in loss was more than £700,000, a reduction of 60%.
The company says it has benefited from the continued and steady growth of its professional and pet care businesses.
It has also enjoyed “substantial improvements and investments in breadth and quality of technology”.
Byotrol also highlighted new marketing initiatives in healthcare, particularly via a joint marketing agreement with ISS Facilities Services – Healthcare, and consumer, in a series of technical development relationships with large chemical companies, including Solvay, the international chemical group.
Chief executive David Traynor said: “We are pleased with progress this year. Financial performance is improving, our technology is now better in efficacy and breadth and we are building a network of high-quality partnerships in sales, marketing and product development. We expect to make further progress in all these areas in the coming year.”
