Vimto inspired homes snapped up

ALL 97 homes in Salford’s new development Vimto Gardens have been bought  as the project nears completion.

The Chapel Street development, which consists of 83 one and two-bedroom apartments and 14 three-bedroom town houses has sold out, with all homes sold off-plan.

Some 13 proud owners with properties within the historic Bell Tower phase of the development were handed their keys in December.

The next wave of homeowners are currently going through the completion process, while the final residents are set to be in the development later this month.

Vimto Gardens is part of the Salford Central regeneration scheme, which is being delivered by English Cities Fund (ECf) – a joint venture between Muse Developments, Legal & General and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) – through an active partnership with Salford City Council. The scheme was designed by Glenn Howells Architects.

Hollie Reynolds, residential sales and marketing manager at English Cities Fund (ECf), said: “Vimto Gardens has been one of the most exciting residential developments in the region in recent years and we are thrilled that all the plots have been snapped up so quickly. It’s lovely to see life at Vimto and lots of happy buyers moving into their dream homes.”

The HCA invested £3.4m through its ‘Get Britain Building’ loan fund to make the scheme happen following the economic downturn.

All homes at Vimto Gardens were available to buy using the Government’s Help to Buy scheme, with 22 buyers choosing to fund their homes using this initiative.

Based on Chapel Street, just metres along from the world-renowned purple soft drink’s original factory site, the Vimto Gardens development takes its name from the much-loved brand.

Phase two of the Chapel Street element of the Salford Central development will see 36 two, three and four bedroomed townhouses built across the street from Vimto Gardens on Cleminson Street, and is set to commence construction in the summer.

Hollie added: “We’ve got so much more in store for this area of Salford and I can’t wait to see how the community continues to develop in the coming years.”
