Pinsents promotes as income hits £362.2m

INTERNATIONAL law firm Pinsent Masons has announced global turnover of £362.2m in its unaudited finanical results for the financial year 2014/15 – up 12% on the previous 12 months.

This follows a year of expansion for the firm which plans to open offices in Sydney and Melbourne, before making up a record 29 partners to take its partnership to above 400, including Andy Phillips in the corporate team in Manchester.

Other recent appointments in the city include new hires Claire Edwards,legal director in commercial, and Claire Gregory, legal director in environmental.

The office also promoted a record number of 13 senior Associate and associates last month as the team in Manchester continues to develop.

Standout mandates in which the Manchester office has been involved include advising Sun Capital and TDR on the acquisition of the Keepmoat group, acting for Equistone on the buy out of Travel Counsellors, advising the shareholders of Sykes Cottages on the sale to Living Bridge, advising The Co-opon the sale of Sunwin Services Group to Cardtronics and advising on the disposal of Burnt Tree Vehicle Solutions to Enterprise Rent-a-Car.

The were also associate promotions for Andy Batty (construction), Sarah Jay (banking), Simon Stubbs (projects), David Herbert (property), Rose Macadie (commercial).
