Appointments: New head for BNY Mellon; Arbuthnot Latham & more

FINANCIAL services group BNY Mellon, the US investments company, has appointed Matt Wells as Manchester site sxecutive, leading the firm’s 1,100-strong presence in the city.

Wells has enjoyed an 18-year career with BNY Mellon, having been one of the first employees based at the Manchester site, which opened in 2005. He has also worked in London and New York.  Since moving to Manchester, Wells has held a number of senior roles including head of EMEA and Asia Cash Operations and, most recently, head of global cash pperations.

Wells succeeds Steve Hayes-Allen who has been appointed to a new role at the bank after four years overseeing the Manchester offices at Piccadilly Gardens and Spinningfields.

Paying tribute to his predecessor, Wells said: “Under Steve’s leadership the company has consolidated its position as a crucial part of BNY Mellon’s global delivery centre network, supporting the business and playing a key role in client relations. More than that, though, he has further strengthened our links with stakeholders, underlining that we are truly invested in Manchester.

“This year marks our 10th anniversary in the city and, having been here from the early days, I’m proud to be taking on the role of site executive.”Alongside his role as Manchester Site Executive, Wells will retain his responsibility as Head of Global Cash Operations. He begins his new role on 6th July.

BNY Mellon’s Manchester offices support more than 20 international business lines, including cash operations, income and tax and client services.

ARBUTHNOT Latham & Co, the independent private banking and wealth management arm of the Arbuthnot Banking Group has appointed Richard Moore as the head of its North West regional office based in Manchester.

Moore, who joins from Brown Shipley where he was director, private banking, has more than 40 years’ experience in the sector, having joined Midland Bank in 1971.

BTP Architects has boosted its team with the appointment of Simon Dennis, who joins the south Manchester practice as a senior architect from Hurd Rolland.
 

Dennis brings more than 16 years’ post qualification experience to the role.

CHARTERED Accountancy firm DSG has boosted its corporate team with the appointment of an assistant corporate business nanager.

The firm, which is headquartered in Liverpool and has offices in the North West and North Wales, has appointed Chris Graham, an accounts and audit specialist.

Graham has a broad range of experience specialising in the preparation of accounts and undertaking audits for owner managed businesses. He will support DSG’s corporate business managers and will be based at the firm’s Liverpool office.

He said: “DSG is a practice with a great reputation and a really diverse range of clients.  I’m looking forward to being a part of the corporate team and getting to know and work alongside our clients to understand how we can most benefit their business operations.“
