Media mix: mediafour; NoChintz; Boxed Off

MACCLESFIELD-based production company mediafour has completed three  films for the BBC ‘Get Inspired’ campaign – all filmed in locations around Stockport and Cheshire.

The three films encourage viewers to become more active and feature local characters to show the benefits of adding a little activity into the daily routine.

All the films are narrated by Steve Cram, and the first one – entitled The Sprint – features two members of Macclesfield Harriers, including 75-year-old Harry Newton who ran his 15th London Marathon this year.

It was filmed in the centre of Poynton and at the post office in Marple Bridge and broadcast recently during the live coverage of the Greater Manchester Run.

Mediafour’s second film – The Throw – stars another Macclesfield Harriers member, Simon Sloan, and was filmed entirely at Bollington’s recreational ground, near Macclesfield. It was first broadcast during the Diamond League meeting in Birmingham.

The final film – The Jump – also features a Macclesfield Harriers member, Barbara Murray, who was filmed in Prestbury preparing for, and eventually succeeding in jumping a tall garden gate.

Jon Falkner, director of mediafour, said: “Being physically active doesn’t have to mean hours of sweaty workouts or money spent at the gym.

“By just getting a little more active, you can help your body in a lot of different ways, and this is exactly what we have tried to portray in a light-hearted way, in this series of short films.”

MANCHESTER interiors and branding studio NoChintz has completed the design of a new Northern Quarter restaurant Infamous Diner on behalf of its client Mark Andrew Developments (MAD).

MAD has also now appointed the studio to deliver refurbishment projects across its other bars and restaurants in Manchester including the Rosylee Tearooms, Walrus Bar and the Fitzgerald Bar.

The appointments come following the successful launch of Infamous, the 1,800sq ft restaurant which has opened. NoChintz advised on the interiors, signage and branding helping the client to convey a distinctly American feel, taking inspiration from the classic 1950s style Diner concept whilst adding a contemporary twist.

Associate director Amy Brown said: “This was a fun brief to work on and I really feel that our ideas have helped the client bring a genuine slice of everyday American life to Manchester.”

LIVERPOOL PR agency Boxed Off is going Gung-Ho! as it celebrates its second birthday.

Gung-Ho! is putting on three 5k races across the UK featuring a number of huge obstacles including Europe’s largest inflatable slide.

Boxed Off has developed a proactive media relations campaign to raise the profile of the brand and each of the events.

It’s the idea of CBeebies presenter Alex Winters and kicks off later this month at Aintree racecourse on August 29, followed by events in Newcastle and Windsor.

Richard Clein, founding director of Boxed Off said: “Getting Gung-Ho! on board shows how Boxed Off is itself continuing to bounce along and win new clients.

“It’s been another year of success getting quality coverage for Heritage Great Britain plc including the launch of the Shaun the Sheep Experience at Land’s End and a special carriage naming ceremony for Katherine Jenkins at Snowdon Mountain Railway which both attracted national coverage.”
