Meltech Engineering goes into administration

A BLACKBURN engineering company with  a turnover of nearly £6m has gone into administration.

Advisers from business recovery specialist Begbies Traynor’s Preston office were called into Meltech Engineering Ltd in Blackburn on Friday.

The company, which employs less than 50 people, made a £348,309 pre-tax profit, according to its accounts to June 30, 2013.

It is a provider of precision engineered solutions used in the processing of nonferrous metals, plastics and other materials.

Among its specialist products and services are wire winding to sub-sea umbilical cable handling and machinery.

Lila Thomas and David Acland at Begbies Traynor’s Preston office are handling the administration.

No-one was available for comment from the company or the administrators.
