Zeus raids giant rival for top talent

MANCHESTER-based broker Zeus Capital has swooped to appoint four members of Canaccord Genuity’s financial institutions group.
Zeus has installed Canaccord’s Mike Cuthbert, managing director and head of financials; Martin Green, a managing director in corporate finance; Robin Savage, a financials analyst; and Pippa Underwood, who works in corporate broking.
Zeus chief executive John Goold told the Financial Times: “It is a first class team from Canaccord with a great record.
“I think it is further vindication of the Zeus model, which is focused, independent, and driven by mergers and acquisitions.”
Zeus, which employs less than 50 people in Manchester, Birmingham and London, was joint broker in a deal earlier this year which saw British Car Auctions sold to Havershame Holdings in a £1.2bn deal.
Its new sector team will work alongside its specialists in the healthcare, renewables and automotive industries and tasked with building up a list of financial institutions clients.
