Appointments: Sedulo; Stanton Fisher; gunnercooke & more

MANCHESTER-based accountant Sedulo has grown its headcount to 30 and now has eight more recruits also in the pipeline.

The company at Deansgate Locks says it is on a recruitment drive due to high levels of growth across the company.

It has already taken on tax manager David Evans from Cheshire-based Howard Worth, and Chloe Mason from Barclays Financial Services to bolster the Sedulo Wealth Management Team.

Both Evans and Mason bring with them a wealth of experience and personal and dynamic attributes, and are on course to enter into future partnership schemes within the business.

Joining Evans in the tax department is Natalie Ferguson, who has arrived at the company on a tax apprentice scheme, and Dean Martin who has been recruited to assist with the rapidly growing payroll department.

The payroll team has more recently began to perform payroll for contractors and recruitment agencies in what is becoming a successful division within the group.

Completing the list of new recruits is Jules Boyle who has joined the marketing department working alongside current Marketing Manager; Adam White and the PR team.

Further vacancies still exist for a newly qualified accountant, an administrator for wealth management division and a further apprentice to join the tax team.

CLAIMS management business Stanton Fisher has appointed a new marketing director to help with the continued growth and expansion of the company.

Richard Livesey, who has over 15 years’ marketing experience, has been brought into help the brand grow its profile as a market leader in the financial claims sector.

Livesey has had a number of high profile marketing roles including head of marketing for Cash Converters, marketing manager for Littlewoods Clearance and head of marketing communications at Allsports.

He said: “Having visited Stanton Fisher’s offices, I was left with no doubt about its professionalism and vision for the future. 

“The opportunity to build a brand with potential for sustained growth within the financial claims management market was too good an opportunity to miss. I am thrilled to become a part of the company in this exciting time of development.”

Stanton Fisher is based in Sale, Greater Manchester and handles claims for PPI, flight delays and packaged bank accounts.

LAW firm gunnercooke has made two additions to its Manchester team as part of its commitment to challenge the traditional way that legal services are delivered to businesses.

Stephen Pearson joins as a commercial property and business, following 15 years’ experience as partner of his own practice Turner Pearson.
 
His expertise covers commercial property and business affairs, residential conveyancing and wills, trusts and probate.

Joining him will be Antonia Gardner, who has been appointed as a commercial real estate partner. She was previously a solicitor in Nottingham at firms Eversheds and Geldards, and joins from Everyman Legal, where she was a consultant solicitor.
 
Gunnercooke is a full service corporate and commercial legal firm, comprising solely senior lawyers with a minimum of 10,000 hours practising experience. The firm operates across the UK with offices in Manchester and London.

BOLTON-based tax planning and investment specialist OneE Group has has promoted Gwilym Davies to business development director.
 
With MORE 11 years’ experience of business development within professional services firms, Davies joined OneE Group as a business development manager in 2010.

He has since developed not only to become the company’s key interface with accountancy partners, but a well-known figure in the accountancy industry.

FOUR young people have commenced new careers in financial services thanks to an Apprenticeship programme with business advice specialist Champion Accountants.
 
The quartet joins the group as audit and accounts trainees, with Daniel Kiziltas, 24, Thomas Brocken, 18 and Emma Jane Savage, 18, being appointed by the Blackpool office, whilst Georgia Mayor, 18, has joined the Preston team.  

The roles include reviewing financial information, preparing VAT returns and management accountants and liaising with the group’s SME client base. All whilst working towards a nationally-recognised qualification from the Association of Accounting Technician’s (AAT).

NATIONAL commercial property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) has strengthened its hotel division with the appointment of a new director.

Alistair Greenhalgh, who has more than 15 years’ experience in the North West hotel transaction market, has joined LSH as a director from JLL where he was senior vice president of its hotels and hospitality group.

He will be based in Manchester but divisional director Hugh Anderson said the appointment would bolster LSH’s hotel expertise, not only in the North West but also as part of the company’s growing national presence.

He said: “Alistair has a long standing reputation in the market place, having dealt with a wide range of hotels in his career throughout the North West, both from individual high quality, single asset transactions to larger portfolio assignments. 

“I am extremely pleased to have Alistair on board, particularly given the current strength of the hotel market, further building our profile in a sector that we are actively expanding on a national and international basis.”

WARRINGTON-based interior design and fit-out business Claremont has promoted Natalie Davies to head of sales.
 
Davies has been part of the new business team since she joined Claremont in 2006 and now manages the nine-strong business development and sales department, including Claremont’s successful graduate programme.
 
Ann Clarke, joint managing director of Claremont, said: “Natalie’s a real tour de force and she has played a key role in some very sizeable wins for us over the last few years. Claremont, which rebranded from Claremont Group Interiors earlier this year, is set to achieve a £40m turnover in 2015 and has £8m secured already for 2016.

PROCUREMENTFor All has appointed four members of staff to its growing team as it announces record member spend.

The organisation, which is run by a consortium of six housing associations and has 21 landlord members in total, released £48m worth of work through its 14 frameworks last year.

It welcomes Martin Ellicott and Katie Mullings as procurement officers and Lee Williams and Edward Roughley as procurement administrators to the growing team based in Manchester as it looks to further expansion this year.

Ellicott joins from Procurement for Housing where he held a similar role for two years. As part of his new position with the procurement body, Ellicott will be supporting the framework and mini-competition services.

While Mullings will oversee the procurement consultancy division of the organisation, with current projects valued at more than £200 million. She joins the team from Top Right Group, which is the parent company of EMAP and Glenigan, where she held the role of account manager almost two years.

CHESTER-BASED professional services firm Knights has recruited an expert in restructuring and insolvency with more than 11 years’ experience to its growing team.

Stephen Young joins the firm as a partner and will be responsible for building and developing the insolvency offering at Knights.

He brings with him a wealth of experience in dealing with corporate and personal insolvency issues, including litigious and transactional matters.

Young acts for insolvency officeholders, as well as others affected by insolvency, including businesses facing financial difficulty, directors, lenders and creditors.

“I’ve worked on some very interesting assignments over the years which have resulted in assets being recovered for creditors, or assisting businesses faced with the prospect of insolvency,” he said.

LIVERPOOL-based food manufacturer and supplier has Real Good Food has appointedDavid Newman to its board as finance director with immediate effect.

Newman, who qualified as a certified accountant in 1988, has been company secretary of AIM-listed RGF since 2010.

He started his career as a financial accountant with Dawson Group and subsequently held senior financial roles at Pirelli Group, J Mowlem & Co  and Napier Brown & Co.

In 2005 he became financial controller of Real Good Food following the Company’s takeover of Napier Brown. Following his appointment, Newman will also remain as the company secretary.

Executive chairman Pieter Totté said: “David has played a key role in the development of our financial and IT systems throughout that time. He brings to the role a wealth of experience and knowledge across the Company and he will be a strong addition to the board.”
