Jobs fillip as Scots firm expands

Manchester

AN AMBITIOUS business intelligence firm is set to create up to 30 jobs in the region with the opening of a Manchester office.

Dufrain Consulting is taking office space at 3 Hardman Street, Spinningfields. Manchester will be its third location after Edinburgh and London.

Specialising in the financial services sector, Dufrain was founded in 2009 and has enjoyed rapid growth. Revenues in the year to the end of May were £4m, but are forecast to double in the next 12 months.

Co-founder and managing director Michael Gilmartin said: “Since our launch in 2009 our growth has been continual.  Fast forward to today, and the demand for people with the right mix of skills, experience with technology and deep knowledge of their sector is continually driving demand from customers.

“Financial services is seeing a particular spike in demand for additional resource as their general reliance on data increases, but specifically in areas like remediating customers mis-sold financial products, regulatory and risk reporting.

“Manchester and the North West is a particular area of interest for Dufrain.  We’ve been supporting clients across the UK for years but as client demand continues to grow there we’ve responded with increased investment on people and premises in the area.  Our office opening in Manchester enhances our offering to clients and provides a great base for our growth in the area.”

Mr Gilmartin said the Manchester office will be led by practice lead Nicholas McFadden.  The company has already hired eight and is recruiting for more than 20 more people.
