Awards round up: National honour for EY partner; PH Homes & more

VICTORIA Price, tax partner at EY in the North West,  won the professional category at the 2015 Women of the Future Awards, which celebrate the achievements of young women in business in the UK.

Price, who was promoted to partner this year, she was selected from a five-strong group of finalists to win the accolade at the event, held at the Hilton Park Lane in London on Tuesday.

Based across the firm’s Manchester and Liverpool offices, Victoria has taken a leading role in growing EY’s presence in the entrepreneurial market in the North West and the wider UK.

The Women of the Future judges said that they had ‘never met anyone who was so grounded’. They praised Victoria’s exceptionally ‘human’ story and a level of grit which is ‘simply incomprehensible’.

Victoria said: “I’m absolutely delighted to win this award and humbled to be recognised amongst some of the UK’s most inspirational business women, who have truly owned and driven forward their careers to achieve some fantastic things.

“It’s vital that we celebrate and recognise women’s successes in business, and I’m particularly proud of the huge steps we’re taking as a firm to promote diversity and inclusiveness, which is helping to make us even more competitive.”

CHESHIRE residential developer PH Homes, has won an industry award and was shortlisted for two further categories in the Sunday Times’ British Homes Awards.

Announced in the Sunday Times this weekend, PH Homes took the best Conversion, Restoration and Refurbishment title for its Hulme Hall development in Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire, a Grade II listed hall which has been converted into three family homes with the construction of a further 11 new homes around a central courtyard.

PH was also shortlisted for Best House Design for its ‘Stanley’ house at Greenlands, in Alderley Edge and Home Builder of the Year.

Hulme Hall has also been shortlisted in the Best Renovation category in The What House Awards, which will be announced at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, on Friday November 20th 2015.

PH Homes has been credited for creating prestigious family homes in desirable locations across Cheshire. It is due to go on site with a further three new developments in Bowden, Prestbury and Henbury in early November.

SENIOR regeneration manager at Manchester-based Procure Plus Ann-Marie Hopkins has been shortlisted for the Living Wager Leadership Awards 2015 in the North West.

The awards recognise the life changing impact individuals have made by leading the way on the Living Wage Campaign within communities.

Hopkins was entered into the category thanks to her “tenacity and passion” for leading the delivery of fair pay across the region – regardless of individuals’ experience or role.

The Living Wage is an hourly rate set independently and updated annually, and calculated according to the basic cost of living using the ‘Minimum Income Standard’ for the UK.

Employers choose to pay the Living Wage on a voluntary basis. The Living Wage enjoys cross party support.

BILFINGER GVA’s Liverpool associate Jonathan Lowe has been shortlisted for a national award.

Lowe is one of eight North West property professionals to make the final of the RICS Matrics Young Surveyor of the Year Awards.

In his position at Bilfinger GVA, based at No 4 St Paul’s Square, Lowe advises both public and private sector clients across national office and industrial markets.

Lowe has been recognised in the ‘public sector/ academia’ category for his work with a range of public sector clients including the Department for Communities and Local Government, Department for Education and Ministry of Justice over the last few years.

The annual awards recognise those excelling within their surveying profession and reward inspirational role models and ambassadors in the land, property and construction sectors.

Hundreds of young surveyors – aged 35 and under – from across the UK were nominated for the prestigious awards and a shortlist of 79 finalists has now been announced.
