TechNorth completes board line-up

A YEAR after the TechNorth project was announced by then-Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, a board has been announced for the initiative.

The new board members include Manchester-based investment banker Hugh Campbell, managing partner of tech specialist GP Bullhound, Mike Bracken, the recently-appointed chief digital officer of The Co-operative Group, David Richards, chief executive of Yorkshire firm WANdisco,  Alex Depledge, chief executive of London-based Hassle.com, Mike Bracken and Lee Perkins, UK managing director at Sage.

Board member at Government-backed Tech City UK, Herb Kim, took the top spot as executive chairperson of Tech North in March, alongside Claire Braithwaite, head of Tech North.

Kim said: “We’re extremely happy to have recruited such an esteemed group of leaders to help us realise the potential of Tech North and the North’s digital ecosystem.

“Tech North is lucky to have access to some of the most experienced digital entrepreneurs and business leaders in the North of England.”
