Fairpoint chief to address legal sector leaders
THE boss of Fairpoint – the AIM-listed Lancashire company which has acquired two law firms in the last two years, will be the keynote speaker at a legal sector event next month.
As chief executive Chris Moat, a former insurance executive at Direct Line, has led Fairpoint’s transformation from IVA provider to consumer professional services company through the acqusitions of first Yorkshire firm Simpson Millar and more recently Colemans-CTTS, will be joining a line-up of experts at the Legal Services 2016 event, in Manchester on November 11.
Organised by Manchester-based Jepson Holt and Totuus Consulting, Legal Services 2016 is aimed at senior and managing partners, law firm chief executives and finance directors.
The theme is Reinvention and the event will look at the challenges and opportunities facing legal businesses in 2016. High on the agenda will be improving productivity and profitability in firms.
Phil Jepson event host, chairman of Jepson Holt and a director of Totuus said: “If law firms are to become more productive and profitable, they have to reinvent themselves, what they do and how they do it. We want to give law firm leaders real value and an understanding of what reinvention means.”
As well as Moat, the other speakers are: Clifton Harrison, head of marketing and business development at Eversheds, who will focus on how firms need to reinvent the way they engage with clients; Richard Hodkinson, chief technology officer at Manchester-based national law firm DWF.
Hodkinson will discuss the potential for the use of technology and artificial intelligence in legal services, while Chris Howe, former commercial director of Addleshaw Goddard, who now works with Totuus as a consultant, will discuss how legal businesses could and should use process and pricing to improve their profits.
The final speaker is Charlie Keeling, former global head of HR at Clyde & Co and his presentation will look at how legal businesses need to reinvent their approach to people at all levels.
