BARDSLEY Construction has announced three senior appointments to provide the breadth and depth of expertise required to accommodate an increasing project workload.
The Dukinfield, Greater Manchester-based business – with an office in Leeds – is benefiting from the ongoing upturn in construction work in the North West and Yorkshire as part of the wider economic recovery being enjoyed in the UK.
To accommodate its burgeoning project portfolio, Bardsley has recruited Trevor Hough as operations director, Neil Jones as development manager and Mike Nevitt as senior design manager to fulfil key strategic roles as part of the firm’s ongoing expansion.
Having joined Bardsley following senior roles at Lend Lease and BAM Construction, Hough will sit on the board of directors with direct control of all projects to ensure delivery meets client expectations.
Jones brings with him more than 15 years of experience in development within the affordable housing sector and is responsible for the generation of new business leads and working with local authorities and registered providers of social housing to deliver much-needed new homes across the North West and Yorkshire.
And Nevitt joins Bardsley with 13 years behind him as a senior design manager during a total of 24 years in construction with experience in the education, health, law and order and office development sectors.

The increasing workload at Bardsley includes a £6.5m contract from City West Housing Trust to provide a state-of-the-art extra care facility in Walkden, Salford – the second such scheme to be provided for the Trust by Bardsley – and a £13.85m project to deliver 147 apartments in Aire Street, Leeds for property developer X1, this being the sixth scheme awarded to Bardsley by the Liverpool-based business with a combined value of almost £50m.

FACILITIES management and refurbishment company Vivark part of the First Ark Group, has strengthened its management team with key appointments as the company based at Prescot on Merseyside wins new contracts and develops its range of customer-focused services to businesses across the region.
Phil Webster joins as group director of facilities and asset management, bringing 20 years’ experience of strategic asset management, total facilities management, health and safety, major capital projects and technical engineering service.
Jason Tighe has also arrived Vivark with more than 25 years’ experience of facilities management and refurbishment within the private and public sector, across social and private housing, banking and retail.
His experience includes managing new build, refurbishment and large scale fit-out projects. As Vivark’s new business manager of facilities and asset management, Tighe will hold overall operational responsibility for the delivery of all of Vivark’s contracts.

In addition James Boyd, has been appointed to Vivark’s board. He has more than 20 years’ experience as part of an executive management team and of working at board level.
Chris Saxton, who joined the Vivark board in 2013 and was appointed chair in November 2014, continues to lead the board, alongside fellow board members Collette King and Graeme Dodd.

TEMPORARY labour procurer de Poel has appointed Andrew Preston as group managing director with responsibility for the strategic development and operations of the entire company.
The announcement highlights the Knutsford-Cheshire firm’s significant investment in senior management and commitment to expansion.
First joining the de Poel Group in 2013 to head up its route to market in the NHS and healthcare sector, Preston subsequently assumed managing director responsibility for its newly formed education business and business development across the group.
He has extensive performance history across FTSE 100, PLCs, private equity backed, private and public sector organisations.
