Juice flows at John Lewis as sales hit £100m

JOHN Lewis Liverpool has unveiled a brand new Joe & The Juice  as the retailer celebrates hitting its first £100m sales week of the festive campaign.

Joe & The Juice focuses on health and lifestyle food, serving freshly squeezed juice, coffee and sandwiches. The brand was founded in Copenhagen, and opened its first UK outlet in 2009.

Liverpool will be the fourth John Lewis branch to open one of the cafes, which is part of the shop’s £4.5m refurbishment of the first floor which will be completed on November 25.

The opening follows the announcement made earlier this year by John Lewis that it will be developing its partnerships with Joe & The Juice and pizzeria, Rossopomodoro, introducing further outlets across its shops within the next year.

Meanwhile, the retailers, with stores also at the Trafford Centre and Cheadle is celebrating sales 1.5% up on last year and 15.8% up on last week, as its “Man on the Moon” TV advert appears to be striking a chord with the public with 22 million viewers in its first week.

Chris Earnshaw, head of branch at John Lewis Liverpool, said “It’s great to be able to continue to develop our in-store experience with the addition of Joe & The Juice, and continue building on our successful relationship with the franchise.

“The considerable investment here in Liverpool shows John Lewis’s commitment to customers in Liverpool.  Shoppers have previously welcomed the introduction of new and exciting places for them to refresh and refuel and we’re confident that this addition will highlight John Lewis Liverpool as the shopping destination in the city.”

Patrick Engbo, UK manager at Joe & The Juice, said: “We are very excited to be continuing our relationship with John Lewis across the UK, seeing expansion with our new outlet in the newly-refurbished John Lewis Liverpool.”
