Energy deal creates ‘powerful’ force
STOCKPORT-based energy management company WEMS Group has made a strategic acquisition, creating what it describes a “powerful force” in the market.
The company has bought Aimteq Energy Management, a firm based in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, creating a business with 100 people and revenues of around £10m. Both businesses are subsidiaries of parent company Enterprise Solutions Holdings.
Aimteq is one of the UK’s longest-established systems integration companies specialising in the installation, maintenance and monitoring of building management systems (BMS) and building energy management systems equipment.
It is a good fit with WEMS, which specialises in wireless systems, bureau services (centralised remote monitoring of 1,000’s of sites); and large scale BMS deployment.
Paul Summers, chief executive of Enterprise Solutions Holdings said: “We have looked at the market and recognised that customers want a complete energy management service offering coupled with a range of solutions to best suit their needs.
“Aimteq is an impressive business with an enviable reputation and installed base. Our businesses are naturally aligned and our skill-sets complement each other. As a complete BMS/BEMS solutions provider, we can offer so much more to customers.”
Arthur Jupp, managing director at Aimteq Energy Management said the combination of the two firms would deliver a new level of service to customers: “This is a very exciting time for both parties. Together, we now have greater capability, a national reach and a much enhanced service offering.
“As a ‘one stop shop’ for energy-related BMS/BEMS services, we immediately distinguish ourselves from other businesses in the energy arena. Customers do not want multiple suppliers – they want one trusted partner. This is precisely what we are now able to deliver,” he said.
