Mitie revenue up to £1.12bn

FACILITIES management company Mitie, which employs more than 13,000 across the North of England including Manchester, has announced strong revenue growth at 2.6% to £1.12bn in the six months to September 30.

The FTSE 250 company works on many well-known businesses and brands in the Northern England region, including: LV=, Kellogg’s, Cumbrian Collaboration and Mersey Care NHS Trust.

In the period Mitie was awarded and retained contracts operating in the North which include a range of new integrated facilities management contracts with Daily Mail Group, Deloitte, a major bank and Thales Group, with a combined total annual value in excess of £50m; retained contracts with Northumbrian Water, Everton Football Club and a waste management deal with Hull NHS Trust.

Ruby McGregor-Smith CBE, chief executive of Mitie, said: “Mitie has had a positive start to the year. Our focus on the services sector, primarily in facilities management, will ensure we continue our long-term track record of sustainable profitable growth.

“We are the market leader in integrated FM and are particularly pleased with recent contract awards and retentions. This gives us confidence we will deliver a good full-year performance.”
