Manufacturer on top in best place to work survey

VEHICLE manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover has been named as the best place to work in corporate Britain, according to an influential new survey.

The company, which has 4,500 staff at Halewood, Merseyside and a total of 35,000 employees in the UK – almost its entire global workforce – was ranked number one among 400 businesses surveyed that employ more than 500 people in Britain.

The survey questioned thousands of employees across the country and was carried out for Bloomberg by Statista.

JLR came out ahead of pharmaceuticals group AstraZeneca and retailer Harrods.

Ian Harnett, executive director of human resources and global purchasing at JLR, said: “Over the past five years, we have created more than 20,000 new jobs and are investing significantly in the future of Jaguar Land Rover by recruiting and developing the people that will help ensure our continued success.”
