ACCOUNTANCY firm Kay Johnson Gee has expanded its offering with the appointment of Steven Lindsay as a corporate finance partner.

Lindsay has more than 20 years’ experience working in corporate finance for a merchant bank, the London Stock Exchange, a building society and a “big 4” accountancy practice.  Most recently he was a partner at North West firm CLB Coopers. His specialties cover fund raising, management buy outs, acquisitions and disposals in all sectors.

Kay Johnson Gee partner Roger Blaskey said: “We’re delighted to be able to offer a corporate finance facility, and nobody was better for this position than Steven.  He’s renowned in his field and his level of expertise is the best I know. This appointment forms part of our 2016 growth plans as we prepare to move to new, larger premises.”

LAW firm Slater Heelis  has appointed Angela Brown to its growing residential property team.

Brown was formerly a partner at Stockport-based law firm SAS Daniels. She joins the Timperley, Cheshire office of Slater Heelis to bring more than 20 years’ conveyancing experience to its clients.

Chris Bishop, managing partner of Slater Heelis said: “I’ve known Angela a long time and she’s a highly accomplished professional. We anticipate a strong upturn in the local residential property market and appointing first class lawyers like Angela means we’re well positioned to meet demand.”

LANDMARK Investments Group announced the appointment of David Lathwood as non-executive chairman.

He joins Bolton-based Landmark, the ground rent specialist, to provide strategic advice and guidance as the company expands its activity, particularly looking at new opportunities in the residential and commercial sectors.

Lathwood is lead director of the North West for international commercial property consultancy JLL, where he is responsible for 175 professionals in the region.  

He is a member of the JLL UK Executive Board, which he joined after the £200m acquisition of King Sturge where he was the Managing Partner of the UK Regions. Over his 30 year-plus career he has overseen many major development and regeneration projects in the region, most recently the Carrington and Alderley Park sales.

He will work with Landmark director Mark Hawthorn to help grow the business.

Lathwood said:  “I’ve known Mark for quite some time and I have been very impressed with his drive and ambition for Landmark Investments Group.  I look forward to lending my knowledge, support and advice to Mark and his team as they build on the already successful core of the business.”

MANCHESTER-based SureCare has appointed a new franchise sales manager.
Josh Farrer, son of the business’s owner and managing director Gary Farrer, has been brought on board.

Farrer, who has an extensive background in sales and marketing, will be leading a major new recruitment drive to identify ambitious people keen to become SureCare franchisees.

Gary Farrer, who acquired the Chester-headquartered business from Housing & Care 21 in November 2014, said: “I am delighted that Josh has agreed to become SureCare’s new Franchise Sales Manager. I am extremely proud of the fact that SureCare is once again a true family business.

“We also want our franchisees to feel they are joining a family when they come on board.

“Buying a franchise is a big investment and it is important to know that you are going to receive the support you need every step of the way.”

Josh joins an experienced SureCare management team which also includes operations director Tracy Newcombe, business development managers Clare Roberts and Rachel Gallagher and office manager Carolyn Griffiths.

VIBE Tickets has appointed Manchester-based digital entrepreneur Andrew Daniels as non-executive director.
 
The online ticket company, set up by fellow entrepreneur Luke Massie in 2013, allows fans to swap, buy and exchange tickets at face value, without having to pay over the odds prices.

Andrew Daniels is the managing director of multi award winning digital agency Degree 53 – the company behind the creation of Vibe’s app.

Massie, 23, said: “Andy is extremely experienced in mobile technology and will be advising on the scaling of the Vibe product.
 
As non-executive director, Daniels’ primary role will be to advise on digital strategy and securing future funding.

Daniels said:“Luke and I have similar approaches to business and a strong work ethic. We understand each other well and I’m certain our combined skills will help drive the company’s expansion.”

TRM Packaging Ltd, the £42m turnover corrugated manufacturer based in Burscough, West Lancashire, has made three key appointments – boosting its workforce of over 270 employees.

Amy Driver, Emma Brennand and Tanya Crowley have joined TRM in manufacturing, design and HR roles respectively.  All have started their roles and will support the business in its continued growth.

Driver has been appointed as senior production manager with a focus on delivering lean management and continuous improvement across TRM’s production facility.

Joining from Huhtamaki BCP is Brennand in the role of packaging design consultant.

Strengthening TRM’s management team is Crowley who joins from AB-Inbev as HR manager.

MANCHESTER supply teaching agency PK education has appointed Secondary and SEN School specialist Ruth Davis.

education consultant Davis, 21, joins the agency in a new role managing the specialist staffing needs of Secondary and SEN schools throughout the North West region, including Manchester, Liverpool, Warrington, Wigan, Rochdale, Oldham, Bury, Bolton and Northwich.

Her role is an area of expansion for the company as it develops specialist SEN desks across its five offices as demand from the SEN sector for supply staff increases.

She said: “I really enjoy the education recruitment industry and am very much looking forward to the challenge of developing PK’s Secondary and SEN specialism in Manchester and working closely with both schools and candidates.

HEATROD Elements, based in Manchester  is celebrating after five shop floor operators successfully moved into team leader positions with management responsibilities for production and warehouse areas.

The programme, which has been run in conjunction with the North West Manufacturers Alliance and The Skills Company, follows an extensive management re-organisation at the Salford based manufacturing company.
 
Heatrod identified a group of individuals – Danny Willis, Warren Dyson,Chris Rix, Christine Kent and Craig Talbot – who were ready and ambitious to take further leadership responsibilities to become future leaders in the business all of whom have now successfully completed their training.
