Auto Trader switches auditor and bolsters board

AUTO TRADER Group, the online used car sale specialist, is replacing its auditor.

The listed Manchester company, which has its headquarters at First Street, said it had selected KPMG after a formal tender process.

PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), which has been Auto Trader’s auditor since 2004, will conduct the current year audit and stand down at the company’s annual meeting in September.

In a statement Auto Trader said: “The board would like to thank PwC for the quality and efficiency of its audit services and advice provided to Auto Trader over the past 11 years, and in particular the invaluable support and assistance given to the company in respect of its successful Initial Public Offering in March 2015.

On Wednesday the company told the City that it was trading ahead of expectations.

The company has also strengthened its board with the appointment of Vodafone executive Jeni Mundy as an independent non-executive directir and member of its audit, remuneration and nomination committees.

Mundy is the enterprise product management director at Vodafone nd is responsible for the strategy, delivery and lifecycle management of the FTSE 100 group’s product portfolio worldwide.  She started her career as a radio engineer with BellSouth in New Zealand before joining Vodafone in 1998.

Her roles for the group have included five years as chief technology officer in New Zealand managing IT and the mobile network, five years as the Vodafone UK CTO, and a year leading the Northern Europe Sales team for multi-national customers.

Ed Williams, chairman of Auto Trader, said: “Jeni’s strong technology background will be a welcome addition to the Board, and we are looking forward to benefitting from her extensive experience as we continue on our mission to lead the UK’s digital automotive marketplace.”

Mundy added:”I am excited to be joining Auto Trader, a company that has shown real digital innovation over a sustained period of time, and look forward to working with the team to help guide the company through its next phase of growth.”
