Construction arm of company moves into Quays office

LENDLEASE’S construction business has moved into a new office in Salford Quays.

The move into the iconic Quay West building underlines Lendlease’s ongoing commitment to supporting key clients and delivering construction projects and consulting services in the North.

Its UK Regions North Office will house about 50 Lendlease staff, the majority of which will be working on construction projects and consulting services for external clients.

The Quay West building overlooks Salford Quays, which includes MediaCityUK – a major Lendlease project and Europe’s largest purpose-built development for the media sector – together with the adjacent Lowry Theatre, also a Lendlease project.

Simon Gorski, executive general manager of UK Regions for Lendlease, said: “We have a strong heritage in the North and we are proud of the longstanding relationships we have with clients and supply chain partners in the region.

“We are looking forward to continuing our support for clients undertaking construction projects in cities like Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds.”

“We’re deeply embedded in the North but of course, as a global company, we can draw on expertise and resources from around the world for our clients. We’re really pleased to be moving into our new office, which offers an excellent view of the tremendous work our teams have done in Salford Quays in the last ten years or so.”

Major projects which Lendlease has delivered in the North include the Trafford Centre in Manchester and Kings Waterfront and Liverpool John Lennon Airport in Liverpool.

Lendlease has also undertaken education projects such as the Lancashire Building Schools for the Future Programme, and residential projects such as Potato Wharf in Manchester. Recently, Lendlease has begun work on a new flagship building for Liverpool John Moores University at Copperas Hill.

Key clients for Lendlease in the North over the last ten years include the Peel Group – owner of the Quay West building – Allied London Properties, M&G Real Estate, Bruntwood, Lancashire County Council, Liverpool Vision, Manchester Children’s University Hospitals NHS Trust and Warrington Retail Partnership.

Neil Martin, managing director of Lendlease’s construction arm, said: “Having our staff near to our clients – for whom we undertake major construction projects and have longstanding and trustful relationships – matters a great deal to us.

“The North is in the DNA of Lendlease and we have a very strong portfolio of completed work in the region. We’re looking forward to continuing our happy relationships with our highly valued existing clients, and beginning work for new clients, such as Liverpool John Moores University.”
