Change at the top at construction consultancy

THE boss of Lancashire-based international construction consultancy Driver Group is stepping down after five years at the helm.

Since taking over as chief executive Dave Webster has overseen revenue growth from £16m to nearly £60m.  The Rossendale-based group said he would be replaced by Gordon Wilkinson, who joined the company last December as chief operating officer having previously worked for AECOM and KPMG Consulting in senior roles.

Webster will take remain on the board of the company as a non-executive director with immediate effect.

Chairman Steve Norris said: “Over the last 18 months Dave Webster, the group chief executive, has put in place the platform to deliver the Strategic Plan through to 2018 and key to that is a strong senior management team. Dave has decided that now is the right time to hand over to somebody with experience of building and leading larger scale and broader professional services businesses.”

Webster said he was proud with his achievement of helping to develop “the business into a world leader in construction and engineering professional services”.

He added:  Now is the right time for me to hand over the baton to my successor and I am enormously pleased to continue my association with Driver Group as a non-executive director.”
