Fit-out firm trumpeting success from top storey

FAST-growing interior fit-out specialist Workspace is finding projects are coming in thick and fast and is now shouting its success from the rooftop of city centre office block Manchester One, where it occupies the top floor.

Managing director Russell Davis has kept his company under the radar and small scale having worked previously for companies “with many mouths to feed”.

But Workspace is on course to deliver turnover between £10m and £15m next year, more than 30% ahead of this year’s revenue figure.

“Our remit has been to try to give service without the cost,” said 45-year-old Leicester City fan Davis, whose company specialises in office projects.

“I’ve worked with some companies with very large overheads. We had some lean years, but 12 months ago we realised the business was growing and we needed more people.

“We did a small office project in Lowry House in Manchester and soon we had four more and two months later we had eight.

“Our growth has been achieved through recommendation and our work is mainly in Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds.

“But we are now winning more and bigger projects. We are versatile business and we love being part of what’s going on in Manchester.”
