Progressive 3LP doing what it says on the tin

THIRD party logistics company Progressive 3PL has moved to larger new premises in Bredbury near Stockport after almost tripling turnover during the last 12 months.

Supported by funding from Royal Bank of Scotland, the company has moved to a 23,500sq ft building on Castlehill Industrial Estate.

The new facility will provide the logistics firm with increased capacity to fulfil existing demand as well as providing further space for growth.  The new site is only a short distance from the company’s previous 6,000sq ft base on Lawnhurst Trading Estate.

Established in 2013, Progressive 3PL provides bespoke global transportation and distribution solutions.

The company is owned by directors Jay Dhokia, Laurence Rose & Shanghai-based Supreme International, and currently employs 18 people.

It has grown rapidly since it was established, with turnover increasing by almost 180% during the last two years from £720,000 in 2014 to £2.005m in 2015. Up to 20 new jobs are expected to be created in the UK by the company this year as a result of ongoing growth.

RBS has supported Progressive 3PL with a £75,000 funding deal which will be used to facilitate the move.

Jay Dhokia, managing director of Progressive 3PL, said: “This move is a crucial step for the company and will enable us to continue to expand rapidly without worrying about our capacity to take on new contracts.

“Our business has gone from strength to strength during the last three years and we have developed excellent relationships with our clients and suppliers.

“We plan to continue to drive business growth forward and are now looking at opening hubs in key ports overseas.  We have already opened a depot in New Jersey, USA and are in the process of finding a suitable base on the West Coast, USA.”

Lee Thompson, relationship manager at Royal Bank of Scotland said: “Progressive 3PL has a very promising future.

“It has achieved rapid growth since it was established and is run by a very dynamic team. I am pleased that we have been able to support Progressive 3PL with their expansion and look forward to continue to work alongside the business in the future.”
