Payments firm trumpets city jobs boost

PAYMENTS and fleet services provider Radius Payment Solutions is set to significantly expand its international team, including creating 35 jobs in Manchester where it is opening a new technology centre.
The office on Peter Steet will become an additional hub for the company’s software development team, which is responsible for developing market leading fleet technology, as well as web and smartphone app-enabled software.
Crewe-based Radius Payment Solutions’ subsidiaries in the UK include fuel card provider UK Fuels and Kinesis Telematics, and it currently operates across 29 countries in Europe. It has chosen Manchester for its technology hub due to the city’s strong international connections, central location within the UK and world-renowned digital sector.
Bill Holmes, chief executive at Radius, said: “We chose to open a Manchester hub to support both our UK operation and international growth. The city’s strong international transport links, digital and technology culture and rich talent pool made it an obvious choice.”
In 2015 Manchester was ranked the top regional city for business start-ups and is now the second largest hub for creative and digital content across Europe after London.
Radius Payment Solutions operates in 29 countries across Europe and is listed 29th on The Sunday Times HSBC Top Track 100.
