Bank deal plumps up iconic cushion maker

ICONIC textile manufacturer Caldeira – established in Liverpool in 1991 – has agreed a new finance facility of £1.25m with specialist lending and savings bank Aldermore to continue its turnaround.

Caldeira, the UK’s leading cushion manufacturer, prides itself on delivering quality combined with good value to its many retail clients who are based in more than 20 countries worldwide.

The company has received a host of accolades, including being named among Richard Branson’s Sunday Times/Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100 companies, and has expanded into China and the USA.

The funding from Aldermore will allow Caldeira Limited to continue its growth and development of its three divisions (in the UK, China, and USA) and to expand its customer base.

Caldeira managing director Tony Caldeira said: “We have worked with other lenders in the past but something that stood out about Aldermore was their flexible approach in dealing with us as a customer.

“They really understand what we need as a customer and know exactly how to deliver on this. Aldermore has a reputation within the industry as a great alternative to the high street lenders.”

Aldermore’s head of business development, invoice finance, North West, Carl Finlayson, said:  “Caldeira is already a very well-established business, and has seen extraordinary growth since it was founded in 1991.

“Tony Caldeira is extremely passionate about his business, and is the driving force behind it, ensuring that Caldeira continues progressing, and that the company is able to provide the best possible service to its retail customers.”
