People: Faith in Nature; ICG; The Base

AWARD-winning Greater Manchester natural beauty brand Faith in Nature has appointed David Murray as its new Head of Operations.

The appointment at Faith sees Murray returning to work after a two-year sabbatical taken following 25 years in manufacturing with Pilkington Glass.

Murray joins the team at an exciting time for Faith with export sales breaking the £1m barrier for the first time and a number of new product lines being introduced in the company’s Bury factory.

Managing director Joy Parkinson said “David brings a wide range of operational and technical skills from his many years’ manufacturing experience and they will certainly be put to good use as we push new products through the factory and increase production to meet ever-increasing demand for our products.”

Faith in Nature’s turnover hit £4m in the last financial year and has said it is looking to double the size of the business over the next 3 years, targeting at least 25% growth in turnover per annum.

SYLVIE Morton from Nord in France has been appointed business development manager at The Base, the recently-opened 50,000sq ft grade A office building in Warrington’s emerging central business district.

The building has been developed specifically to meet demand from ambitious SMEs in the advanced manufacturing and engineering sectors. Sylvie Morton

Morton has a long track record in helping technology-led businesses grow, having previously fulfilled this role for Manchester’s inward investment agency, MIDAS.

She had a particular focus on advanced materials and was part of the team responsible for developing the region’s supply chain capabilities for new wonder material, graphene.

Her new role, says Morton, is as much about helping tenants through providing networking channels to new business as it is in securing business for the centre itself.

“Our customers’ success is what will drive our own, so it makes sense to focus on helping them access new markets and make useful contacts that can help them grow their companies,” she said.
