Permission granted for 130 new homes

PLANNING permission has been granted for the construction of 130 new in Garstang, Lancashire by Barratt Manchester.

The development on land off Kepple Lane will include the creation of a wildlife-friendly wetland meadow.

Alongside the mix of new homes, Barratt Manchester will also make a substantial contribution to Wyre Council of around £4,600 per home – a total of more than £600,000. The funds will be used to help pay for community infrastructure, including road improvements and education provision.

Barratt Manchester sales director Michaela Lancaster, said that in addition to the investment in the local area, buyers who move into the new homes will also spend their wages locally, which translates into a significant boost for local retailers.

Lancaster said: “We are thrilled to have been given permission to construct a community in this popular location.  Our aim is to provide stylish and sustainable homes for a wide range of buyers with varied lifestyles, and work is due to start soon.”

The new development will offer a range of three and four bedroom houses planned and will benefit from stunning views over the River Wyre and the open countryside.

Barratt Homes Manchester has this month received a major national award from the Home Builders Federation (HBF). The housebuilder has achieved a 90% customer satisfaction score and five-star rating after it took part in a nationwide survey.

Barratt Homes is the only major national housebuilder to have been awarded the maximum 5 star rating for seven years in a row by the HBF.
