Hunt for new operator for leisure lake

THE tender process has begun to find a new operator to lease Marine Lake at New Brighton on the Wirral.  

The new operator would lease the lake and a building from Wirral Council, with a mission to provide daily activities and to put on at least one event per month, including a number of large scale events.
 
Under the terms of the lease the new operator could provide catering, goods and services to support activities on the lake. The rooms in the building could also be hired out for private functions.
 
The Council would maintain responsibility for the main structure of the Marine Lake and remove wind-blow sand to ensure the lake can continue to operate.

The successful applicant would be responsible for keeping the lake free from rubbish and debris, and would provide and maintain suitable life-saving safety equipment around the lake.

Closing date for bids is May 17, 2016. Among the information required from applicants as part of the bidding process is a full business plan and projected revenue.
