£1m investment into restaurant refurb

EAST Coast Concepts will invest almost £1m in a state-of-the-art restaurant refurbishment at Neighbourhood, as group turnover approaches £11m for the year.

The company will also employ more than 200 people when a new Neighbourhood restaurant and bar is launched in Liverpool in Autumn this year.

James Hitchen, owner and founder of the New-York inspired East Coast Concepts, says a brilliant new menu will launch at the Manchester city centre Neighbourhood in June.

It also comes after the appointment of Ciaran Hogg as operations director of the group.

He joins East Coast Concepts, also behind the popular Victor’s in Hale, from the 4 AA Rosette accredited Manchester House.

Hitchen, who lives in Manchester city centre, said: “Now is a very exciting time in our journey. We have the refurbishment of Neighbourhood in Manchester, a new menu coming soon, plus the opening in Liverpool. Work is due to start there in eight weeks with a launch date set for October.

“Since opening in November 2013 Neighbourhood has been central to the explosion of the restaurant and bar scene in Manchester. So we are glad to be building on this.

“It’s fantastic in fact. And I’m proud of what we are achieving in Manchester, Hale and Liverpool.”

James also said he was extremely pleased to land Ciaran Hogg as operations director.

“I am also absolutely delighted that we have managed to attract such a huge talent in Ciaran,” he said.

“This is a major win for us as Ciaran will be instrumental in the expansion of the brand as we continue to improve our offering and open new restaurants further afield.”

Ciaran added: “I am looking forward to the fresh challenges ahead of me with the exciting period of growth for the Neighbourhood brand in Manchester and beyond.”

Neighbourhood is a corporate social hub on Thursday nights, is transformed into a party hotspot on Friday and Saturday nights and offers all-day New York style brunches for lazy weekends and mid-week meetings.
