Developer awarded £2.4m shared ownership contract

BUILDER and developer Seddon has been awarded a £2.4m contract to deliver a shared ownership scheme in Clayton, Manchester.

The £190m turnover firm has been appointed by Adactus Housing Association to deliver 22 homes on a brownfield site on Viola Street.

Adactus – part of the Adactus Housing Group, which owns and manages more than 13,000 properties across the North West – is delivering the scheme with Manchester City Council and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

The partnership between landlord and council is a part of the city’s Residential Growth Prospectus, aiming to help more people to own their home through schemes such as shared ownership. The project is also utilising Affordable Homes Programme funding from the Homes and Communities Agency.

Work on the shared ownership scheme is now underway, and is set to be completed by March 2017.
