Stillages firm continues major investment

INVESTMENT continuing at High Peak-based JS Burgess Engineering, the UK’s largest independent stillage manufacturer.

The company has acquired almost 75,000sq ft of additional land around its factory.

The new land equates to almost two acres of additional yard and storage space.

The investment comes only weeks after spending more than a £1m on new factory buildings, plant and machinery.

Managin director Jonny Patoff said: “We are well known in the industry for quality and service which has over the years enabled us to build strong associations with many new and returning customers from a wide variety of industries.

“With the resulting growth in our order book we are even more committed to further reducing lead-times whilst increasing production, to do this we have had to further expand our operations within our High Peak site.

“Having purchased adjacent factory buildings to facilitate the increases in production we needed larger yard space to store increased steel stocks and store products and materials.

We managed to acquire the surrounding land from United Utilities and have subsequently investment in concreting the new yard which will enable us to do just that.

The impact of this investment will allow us to continue to grow whilst at the same time continue to offer the quality of service we pride ourselves on.”
