New chef for Manchester Marriott
THE four-star Manchester Marriott Victoria and Albert Hotel has a new executive chef.
John Chilley has 13 years experience working alongside Michelin star chefs, honing his skills in AA Rosette restaurants and cooking in a variety of establishments across the north.
Having developed his passion for cooking while working as a chef in the British Army, Chilley will be bringing a new style of cuisine to the hotel’s restaurant, introducing a contemporary twist to the menus and using more local produce.
He said: “I have always loved how the Manchester Marriott Victoria and Albert Hotel reflects the history of the city, especially through the restaurant itself which overlooks the river and has a cosy atmosphere.
“It’s the perfect place for me to showcase my skills and use my industry knowledge to deliver the best possible banqueting and dining experience for our guests. Marriott is one of the best names in the industry and I’m very excited to be part of the team.”
Paul Bolland, general manager at Manchester Marriott Victoria and Albert Hotel, said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming John to the hotel, he will undoubtedly make a valuable addition to the team, bringing with him a wealth of experience that will prove extremely important in driving our food and beverage offering.”
