IFB2016 readies for launch with Horasis Global Meeting

WORLD leaders and former heads of state are set to arrive in Liverpool over the weekend ahead of the opening day of the International Festival for Business 2016, which launches on Monday.
Global leaders in politics, academia and industry are flocking to the city to attend the inaugural Horasis Global Meeting, which is being held in the city as part of the three week festival.
The event at the Exhibition Centre Liverpool, on June 13 and 14, will be the world’s foremost gathering of business leaders, ministers, Nobel Laureates and global influencers.
The delegate list includes nine former or current heads of state, 27 professors from the world’s leading universities and more than 100 CEOs and global business leaders, including Stuart Gulliver, group chief executive of HSBC in the UK; Bo Inge Andersson, chief executive of AvtoVAZ in Russia; Ronnie C. Chan, chairman of Hang Lung Properties in Hong Kong; and Martin Richenhagen, chairman of AGCO Corporation from the US.
Speakers include former South African president and Nobel Peace Laureate F.W. de Klerk, Nobel award-winning economist Edmund S. Phelps and the Director General of UNESCO, Irena Bokova.
The Horasis Global Meeting is being co-hosted by Liverpool Vision and IFB2016 and is being held in partnership with the CBI, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Liverpool John Moores University.
Ian McCarthy, IFB2016 festival director, said: “IFB2016 is a platform that enables and encourages international collaboration, knowledge sharing and innovation on a global scale, so it seems fitting that Horasis, which brings together the world’s best minds to develop pioneering, visionary solutions to the most pressing international challenges, has chosen to host its inaugural global meeting at the festival.
“We extremely excited to launch the second International Festival for Business on Monday and to be building on the great legacy created by IFB2014. This year’s festival is set to be even bigger and better than 2014, and there seems no better way to launch IFB2016 than by welcoming this high-profile cohort of the world’s elite to our wonderful city for their very first global gathering.”
Dr Frank-Jurgen Richter, Horasis chairman, said: “The programme of the Horasis Global Meeting comprises more than 30 sessions that will help to generate ‘Visions for Tomorrow’, the overarching theme of the event. Participants will share insights on the current state of the world and identify solutions to build confidence enabling decisive progress towards a richer society.”
Horasis, which boasts some of the world’s most successful and respected entrepreneurs amongst its members, provides strategic foresight to public and private entities that envisage growing into global and sustainable organisations.
The organisation hosts annual meetings which advance solutions to the most critical challenges facing corporations and it works to encourage co-operation and connections between emerging and mature markets.
