Kids Planet set for move to Exchange Quay

KIDS Planet Day Nurseries has agreed a lease to open a 136-place day nursery at the Exchange Quay Salford Quays office development.

The company has signed a 25-year lease on 6,135sq ft in Number 6 Exchange Quay.

Agents on the 433,637sq ft Hunter Real Estate Exchange Quay are Canning O’Neill and Savills while Kids Planet was unrepresented.

A complete fit out is being undertaken at the new site to provide excellent facilities with large and spacious rooms and a secure outdoor area providing children with fresh air and outdoor fun.

The nursery will also benefit from a state-of-the-art sensory room and a separate allotment area within the garden. The nursery will be open from Monday 7th November 2016.

The nursery is the 18th setting to be added to the Kids Planet Group, which now offers over 1,700 nursery places across the North West and with revenues in excess of £13m.

Kids Planet Day Nurseries was founded in 2008 by chief executive Clare Roberts and her father John Hoban, who is chairman. John’s other daughter Lucy Kaczmarska, joined the group in 2013 as director of early years.

After first acquiring its first two nurseries in Warrington and Widnes, Kids Planet has quickly grown to become one of largest groups in the region with nurseries located in Beamont (Warrington), Crewe, Crosby, Dukinfield, Fazakerley, Hale, Higher Broughton, Lymm, Mossley Hill, Prestwich, Sale, Salford, Springhead, Southport, Urmston, Warrington and Widnes. Kids Planet currently have 12 Ofsted Outstanding nurseries with 6 currently awaiting inspection.

Over 100,000sq ft of lettings have completed in the last 12 months at Hunter’s Exchange Quay development which has undergone a £10m investment programme to upgrade the six office buildings to Grade A specification, in addition to extensive remodelling of the public realm and the introduction of many occupier facilities including a Costa Coffee outlet and Londis Retail Shop which are managed by award-winning site services partner, Elior.

Exchange Quay’s six office buildings range from 26,151sq ft to 116,684 sq ft. The development, which also boasts its own dedicated Metrolink tram stop, is strategically located just off Trafford Road which links Salford Quays to both Manchester City Centre and the major motorway networks via the M602.
