Developer lands deals to transform green fields into homes

OLDHAM-based Grasscroft Property has been appointed to transform prime green field sites across the UK into high quality housing and commercial developments.

Grasscroft has signed and exchanged contracts on a prime 60-acre site currently in the green belt on the Sale/Stretford border, in a prominent position just off the M60.

The company’s vision for the site is to develop a high quality employment park. The scheme will be promoted through the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework for commercial development.

Grasscroft has acquired four acres of prime land in Aston near Northwich, Chesire with the aim of developing 45 to 50 residential units in Cheshire East local aurthority area. The developer will be submitting a planning application for the residential scheme later this year.

Outside of the North West, Grasscroft has also exchanged contracts on Sturminster Marshall in Dorset, acquiring 25 acres of green belt land as part of a local plan review of housing numbers.

Grasscroft is working with a team including How Planning, TPM Landscape, BWB Engineers and Croft Transport Solutions.

Mike Coulter, managing director at Grasscroft Property, said: “These three deals are significant to Grasscroft and pushing these through to planning and ultimately delivery of residential development is where we bring our strategic planning skills to bear.  We have a number of new deals in the pipeline and continue to look for new opportunities to add value to strategic development land.

“Over time, we’ve been able to sustain a 100% success rate in securing planning permission through maintaining that focus on strategic land and using our local knowledge and 15 years’ experience to the unlock maximum value from complex green and brownfield sites.”
