Engineering firm gets key £0.5m contract

GREATER Manchester-based TP Group, the AIM-listed technology, engineering and managed solutions group, has been awarded a contract worth nearly £0.5m to build a large steam condenser at a chemical processing plant in the UK.

The project is significant to Dukinfield company TPG as it is the first on such a scale to be delivered as a total package solution.

It includes conventional heat exchanger bundles, manifolds, pumps, fans and steam control systems.

The supply also includes electro-mechanical design and fabricated structures such as walkways and handrails to go alongside the system on site as a turnkey provision.

TPG Engineering will support installation with a commissioning package to ensure minimum down-time of the production facility.

The company said  theproject rewards the transformation of the Dukinfield business, under its new management team, from a traditional thermal equipment business to a supplier of end-to-end systems and solutions for critical applications.

The system is planned to go into service in early 2017 and is hoped to be the first of many similar integrated systems to be produced at the Dukinfield facility.
